Meet Our Instructors:
Bikash Pal: Bikash Pal is currently pursuing a PhD in Biostatistics at the University at Albany, SUNY. He completed his Honours and Master’s degrees in Statistics at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. After graduation, he joined the Department of Statistics as a Lecturer and was later promoted to Assistant Professor. Alongside teaching, Bikash is dedicated to advising students and engaging in co-curricular activities. As a Krishna devotee, he practices a devotional lifestyle and believes spiritual wisdom is essential for a balanced and meaningful life. Bikash aims to share this knowledge in a simple, practical way to help children grow with clarity and compassion.
Sudipta Saha: Sudipta is a 2016 graduate of SUNY Albany with a Bachelor of Science and currently works as an IT Consultant. A seeker of Vedic stories and Kirtan, he is here to support the Kid's class by sharing Hari katha, the sweetness of the Bangla Language, and wisdom from vedic literature.
Hemel Debnath: Hemel is the youngest of our three religious teachers and has a strong background in Puranic stories, Sanskrit prose, and Vedanta. Since childhood, Hemel and his sister learned Hindu culture through shows like the Ramayana and Mahabharata, temple visits, and guidance from their parents. At age eight, Hemel began memorizing prayers, suktams from the Rig Veda, and verses from sacred texts such as the Gita and Bhagavata Purana. He learned to read and write Bangla from his mother and Hindi on his own by age ten. Hemel’s family moved to Albany from Hudson in 2021, becoming active volunteers in local religious events. In his free time, Hemel enjoys drawing, reading, and exploring engineering skills. Currently, he works as a Civil Engineer at New York State Department of Transportation and Peer Tutor at SUNY Albany, and is also pursuing a Master’s in Electrical Engineering at SUNY Albany.
